Custom Business Cards
Custom Business Cards—Tips for a
Successful Business
Businessmen
often neglect the importance of business cards in the success of their
company. Some simply look at them as a means for other people to contact
them. But business cards, especially the customized ones, are very
important, useful, and easy marketing tools. Custom business cards are
great because you can create your own designs and use your own logo and
brand. If you decide to use a pre-designed template, you will end up
with a business card that looks just like other business cards because
you all got your template from the same mold. But of course, you still
have to know some tips for creating custom business cards. Here are some
of them.
• One great tip is to print your business
card vertically rather than horizontally. This is a very unique business
card that will surely get noticed. Standard business cards are printed
horizontally and if you want your business card to stand out, try to
print it vertically. However, you have to adjust the font size and the
length of each line because the width is narrower and the length is
longer.
• You can also print business cards in
half-fold or tri-fold card stocks. This way, you can include a lot of
information about your company. This type of business card can also
serve as a mini-brochure. However, make sure that it is not text heavy
or your potential customer will be bored. Just include primary
information about your company such as your mission, vision, and goals.
• Another way is to use noisemakers or
scented cardstocks. These are great ways to get your business card
noticed. However, you have to remember that some people do not want
scented business cards because they are allergic to perfumes. The sound
should also not be too loud or noisy that will surprise other people.
Choose something very professional and business like.
• You can create business cards with
different designs but make sure that you are consistent with the logo,
brand, and company colors. Do not think about changing your company logo
or colors just to adjust to your business card design. It should be the
other way around. The design should adjust to the logo and colors.
• Aside from the standard rectangular shape,
you can use other shapes that will better represent your product or
business. For example, if you are selling clothes, you can choose a
T-shirt shaped business card. Or if you are a divorce lawyer or are
working for a divorce consulting firm, you can have a business card cut
in half using jagged edges. Some people include seeds for environment
related businesses. These are some tips that you can use for a
one-of-a-kind business card.
• Instead of the standard cardstock, you can
sue non-traditional materials like plastic or colored stock. People will
most likely keep unique and interesting business cards. They are like
collectibles.
• Make sure that the font style is easy to
read. Do not use something that is too difficult to read especially if
your target customers are old people. Make sure that the font style is
clear and simple and the font size is just right.
